Cover

- The title type starts 17mm from the from the top trim, (not including
the bleed). "JAVA" is 140pt BodonDBla, flush right, and prints
using the CMYK color specified in the English language version of the
cover. A 5pt Helvetica TM symbol appears at its lower right corne (the
baseline of the TM symbol aligns with that of "JAVA"). The
subtitle is 36pt BodoniBdIt BT, flush right. There should be approx.
75mm space between "JAVA" and the subtitle.
- The graphic should be the same proportional dimensions and layout
as it appears on the original cover, leaving 17mm of white space on
either side.
- The O'REILLY® logo is 17mm from the left edge. Its baseline is
17mm from the bottom. Your logo should appear directly above the O'REILLY®
logo, 17mm from the left edge, and should be the same proportional dimensions
as the O'REILLY® logo.
- The author's name(s) is 18pt, flush right, Bodoni Bdlt BT. Its baseline
is 17mm from the right trim.
- Leave 17mm of white space at the bottom of the front cover.

Spine
|
- The black box that bleeds off the top of the spine is 35mm high (not
including the bleed), and is the same width as the spine. Inside this
box is a portion of the cover graphic (reduced to fit), leaving approx.
5mm of black space on either side.
- The title type on the spine starts approx. 37mm from the top trim,
(not including the bleed)."JAVA" is BodonDBla. It prints using
the specified CMYK color. A 4pt Helvetica TM symbol appears at its lower
right corner (the baseline of the TM symbol aligns with that of "JAVA").
The subtitle is BodoniBdIt BT. The title type is centered horizontally
on the spine, and should be as large as will comfortably fit in the
area, with "JAVA" somewhat larger in size than the subtitle.
- The author's name(s) is 12pt Bodoni Bdlt BT, flush right, and its
right margin is 385mm from the bottom trim. Like the title type, the
author's name should be centered horizontally on the spine.
- The black box that bleeds off the bottom of the spine is 235mm high
(not including the bleed), and is the same width as the spine.
- The O'REILLY® logo is centered in the black box, and is as wide
as the width of the spine will allow (no larger than 24mm), leaving
175mm of black space on either side. If the spine is exceptionally narrow
(smaller than 35mm), the O'REILLY® logo should be rotated 90 degrees
counterclockwise and centered horizontally in the black box. Your logo
should appear on the spine directly above the O'REILLY® logo, and
should be the same proportional dimensions as the O'REILLY® logo.

Back Cover
|
- The baseline of the O'REILLY® logo is 17mm from the top trim,
and is centered horizontally. It is 32mm wide (not including the ®
mark).
- The baseline of the 2 pt colored rule below the O'REILLY® logo
is 12mm from the top trim. It is centered on the page, leaving 17mm
of white space on either side, and prints using the second PMS color.
- The baseline of the title type below the colored rule is 2635mm from
the top trim. "JAVA" is 24pt BodonDBla, and prints using the
second PMS color. The subtitle is 24pt BodoniBdIt BT. The title type
is flush left, leaving 17mm of white space on either side.
- Inside the box below the title type is a reduced version of the cover
graphic (try to match the spine graphic treatment). The top of the box
is 32mm from the top trim, and it is flush left, 17mm from the left
trim. There is a 0.5pt black rule around the box, which is approximately
15mm W x 15mm high. The bottom of the box should be adjusted to align
with the baseline of the nearest line of back cover copy.
- The back cover copy is New Baskerville 11/14, with 6pts between paragraphs,
and begins 32mm from the top trim, and 17mm from the left trim and right
edge. The back cover copy flows around the right edge of the graphic
with a 6pt offset.
- Your logo should appear 17mm from the left edge, and its baseline
is 17mm from the bottom. It should be the same proportional dimensions
as the O'REILLY® logo.
- Leave 17mm of white space at the bottom of the back cover.
